Diy Queen Size Bed Frame

Building your own bed frame is a great way to save money and get exactly the look you want for your bedroom. This project is relatively easy to complete, even if you're a beginner at woodworking. With a little time and effort, you can have a beautiful, sturdy bed frame that will last for years to come.

Materials You'll Need:

4x4 lumber (8 feet long) x 6
2x4 lumber (8 feet long) x 4
1x4 lumber (8 feet long) x 8
3/4-inch plywood (4 feet x 8 feet) x 1
Wood screws (2-inch and 3-inch)
Wood glue
Sandpaper
Stain or paint (optional)

Tools You'll Need:

Circular saw
Drill
Countersink bit
Clamps
Level
Measuring tape
Pencil

Instructions:

1. Cut the 4x4 lumber into the following lengths: two pieces at 75 inches, two pieces at 80 inches, and two pieces at 90 inches. These will form the legs and side rails of the bed frame.

2. Cut the 2x4 lumber into the following lengths: two pieces at 60 inches, two pieces at 72 inches, and two pieces at 84 inches. These will form the cross supports for the side rails.

3. Cut the 1x4 lumber into the following lengths: four pieces at 60 inches, four pieces at 72 inches, and four pieces at 84 inches. These will form the slats for the bed platform.

4. Assemble the side rails by attaching the 2x4 cross supports to the 4x4 legs using wood screws. Make sure the cross supports are flush with the top of the legs.

5. Attach the side rails to the headboard and footboard by driving wood screws through the legs and into the side rails. Make sure the side rails are level.

6. Cut the plywood to fit the inside of the bed frame. The plywood should be 60 inches wide and 80 inches long.

7. Attach the plywood to the side rails and cross supports using wood screws. Make sure the plywood is flush with the top of the side rails.

8. Sand the bed frame to smooth out any rough edges.

9. Stain or paint the bed frame to match your bedroom décor.
