Building A King Size Bed Frame

Materials
- 8 - 2x6 lumber cut to 84 inches long for the side rails
- 2 - 2x6 lumber cut to 76 inches long for the head and foot boards
- 4 - 2x4 lumber cut to 28 inches long for the center supports
- 4 - 2x4 lumber cut to 18 inches long for the corner supports
- Wood screws
- Wood glue
- Sandpaper
- Stain or paint (optional)

- Circular saw
- Drill
- Countersink bit
- Clamps
- Measuring tape
- Level
- Hammer
- Nail gun (optional)
Instructions
1. Start by assembling the side rails. Apply wood glue to the ends of the 2x6 lumber and clamp them together. Drill pilot holes and drive screws through the holes to secure the rails. 2. Next, assemble the head and foot boards. Apply wood glue to the ends of the 2x6 lumber and clamp them together. Drill pilot holes and drive screws through the holes to secure the boards. 3. Attach the center supports to the side rails. Apply wood glue to the ends of the 2x4 lumber and clamp them to the side rails. Drill pilot holes and drive screws through the holes to secure the supports. 4. Attach the corner supports to the head and foot boards. Apply wood glue to the ends of the 2x4 lumber and clamp them to the head and foot boards. Drill pilot holes and drive screws through the holes to secure the supports. 5. Sand the entire bed frame to remove any splinters or rough edges. 6. Stain or paint the bed frame to your desired finish. Allow the finish to dry completely. 7. Assemble the bed frame by attaching the side rails to the head and foot boards. Apply wood glue to the joints and clamp them together. Drill pilot holes and drive screws through the holes to secure the frame.Tips
- Use a level to make sure that the bed frame is level before attaching the mattress.
- If you are using a nail gun, be sure to countersink the nails below the surface of the wood.
- Stain or paint the bed frame before assembling it to make it easier to reach all of the surfaces.
- Add casters to the bottom of the bed frame to make it easy to move.
