Full Size Loft Bed Plans

Building a full-size loft bed can be a fun and rewarding project. It is a great way to save space in a small bedroom or create extra storage. Here are some full-size loft bed plans to help you get started.

Materials:

8 - 2x6x8' boards
8 - 2x4x8' boards
1 - 4x4x8' post
1 - 3/4" plywood
1 - box of 2 1/2" wood screws
1 - box of 1 1/4" wood screws

Tools:

Circular saw
Miter saw
Drill
Impact driver
Level
Measuring tape

Instructions:

Cut the 2x6 boards to the following lengths:

4 - 72"
4 - 36"

Cut the 2x4 boards to the following lengths:

6 - 72"
2 - 36"

Cut the 4x4 post to a length of 72".
Assemble the frame of the bed by attaching the 2x6 boards to the 2x4 boards using 2 1/2" wood screws. The 2x6 boards should be flush with the ends of the 2x4 boards.
Attach the 4x4 post to the center of the frame using 2 1/2" wood screws. The post should be flush with the top of the frame.
Cut the plywood to a size that is 54" x 72".
Attach the plywood to the frame using 1 1/4" wood screws. The plywood should be flush with the ends of the frame.
Add a ladder or stairs to the bed for access to the loft.
Finish the bed by staining or painting it to match your décor.

Variations:

You can add a desk or storage shelves to the underside of the loft.
