How To Build A King Size Bed Frame

A king-size bed frame is a great way to add style and comfort to your bedroom. The following guide will help you build your own king-size bed frame in just a few hours.

Materials:

8 - 2x6 boards (8 feet long)
4 - 2x4 boards (8 feet long)
1 - 1x4 board (8 feet long)
Wood screws
Wood glue
Drill
Saw
Measuring tape
Level

Instructions:

Cut the 2x6 boards to length. You will need four boards that are 76 inches long and four boards that are 80 inches long.
Assemble the side rails. Take two of the 76-inch boards and two of the 80-inch boards. Place the 76-inch boards on edge, parallel to each other, and 76 inches apart. Place the 80-inch boards on top of the 76-inch boards, flush with the ends. Secure the boards together with wood screws. Repeat this process to assemble the other side rail.
Assemble the headboard and footboard. Take two of the 76-inch boards and two of the 80-inch boards. Place the 76-inch boards on edge, parallel to each other, and 76 inches apart. Place the 80-inch boards on top of the 76-inch boards, flush with the ends. Secure the boards together with wood screws. Repeat this process to assemble the footboard.
Attach the headboard and footboard to the side rails. Place the headboard on top of the side rails, aligning the edges. Secure the headboard to the side rails with wood screws. Repeat this process to attach the footboard to the other side of the side rails.
Reinforce the corners. Take the 2x4 boards and cut them into 12-inch lengths. Place two 12-inch boards in each corner of the bed frame, between the headboard and footboard and the side rails. Secure the boards with wood screws.
Add a center support. Take the 1x4 board and cut it to 72 inches in length. Place the board in the center of the bed frame, between the side rails. Secure the board with wood screws.
Finish the bed frame. Sand the bed frame smooth and apply a finish of your choice.
