King Size Bed Frame Build

Building a king-size bed frame is a great way to save money and get a custom-sized bed. It's also a relatively easy project that can be completed in a weekend. Here are the steps on how to build a king-size bed frame.

Materials

8 - 2x4s (8 feet long)
2 - 2x4s (6 feet long)

16 - 2x4s (4 feet long)
1 - 4x4 (8 feet long)
1 - 4x4 (6 feet long)

You will need the following tools to build a king-size bed frame:

Circular saw
Miter saw

Instructions

1. Cut the 2x4s to the following lengths:

8 - 8 feet long
2 - 6 feet long
2 - 5 feet long
16 - 4 feet long

2. Cut the 4x4s to the following lengths:

1 - 8 feet long
1 - 6 feet long
1 - 5 feet long

3. Assemble the frame by attaching the 2x4s to the 4x4s using wood glue and screws. Make sure the joints are square and secure. The frame should look like a rectangle when it is assembled.

4. Attach the remaining 2x4s to the frame to create the headboard and footboard. The headboard should be attached to the head end of the frame, and the footboard should be attached to the foot end of the frame.

5. Sand the frame to remove any rough edges. You can then paint or stain the frame to match your bedroom décor.

6. Allow the paint or stain to dry completely. Once the frame is dry, you can add a mattress and box spring to complete your bed.

Tips

Here are a few tips for building a king-size bed frame:

Use a level to make sure the frame is square and level before attaching the headboard and footboard.
